Skincare – Review – Melvita Nectar de Roses Hydratant
Melvita Nectar de Roses hydratant – travel size (online UK site & shipping to US)
Since 1983, Melvita has been a French beauty brand that specializes in organic skincare and they sell couple types of organic food products such as honey and tea. I always walk by their store in San Francisco until one day I was like heck what does that store sell and how come I’ve never heard of them? So I walked in I purchased a set of travel size items. I believe I spent $15 on 4 travel size products on a travel deal they had. Their travel sizes are ample enough to test out the product and their staff was very friendly.
I finally finished off my Melvita Nectar de Roses hydratant! I used it on and off for about a month as a facial moisturizer. If it used it everyday, I assume there’s probably about 2 week worth of product. The moisturizer is a white lotion, with a rose fragrance, and the lotion is fast absorbing and pleasant to use.
- “Rose floral water acts as a direct source of hydration, while extract of fresh roses, obtained by enfleurage, helps to hold in the skin’s natural moisture by maintaining the hydrolipidic film. To help diffuse this moisture at the heart of epidermal cells, wild rose petal extract(derived from roses that grow at high altitudes) helps to stimulate the synthesis of aquaporins – true “water channels”. Rose Nectar is made with 100% organic active ingredients and provides 24-hour hydration.” – excerpt from official Melvita site
I enjoyed using the moisturizer. My skin tends to be combination to very dry. I felt the formula was light, moisturizing and didn’t irritate my skin at all. The rose fragrance is definitely present but isn’t overpowering. It’s a very true rose scent and fades away once the lotion is applied to the face. I find this lotion to be a good facial day lotion.
I would recommend checking out Melvita if you are interested in more organic ingredients in your skincare. I liked the moisturizer. However I am currently in love with my ATOPALM moisturizer, which I find is at better price point and more suited for my dry skin. I don’t think I will be purchasing the full size Melvita’s rose nectar hydratant. I might stop by the store and try a few more travel size items.
The main downside for those interested in Melvita is that they have recently closed their US online store and I think the San Francisco store may be the only one left in the US? However it appears that their UK does offer US shipping.
